In the last few years, we followed these routes several times during summer and according to our experience, the program that follows is the one that mostly respects the needs of horses and riders during the hot season.
It is a mix between two of our "old" trekkings": The River Trekking and The Trekking to the Village.
We will spend the first and the last night in the village of Secchiano on the banks of River Bosso and the 2nd and the 3rd night in the mountain villages of Bacciardi/Cardella, according to availability in the accommodations.
Day 1
We will ride for about four or five hours, as it usually happens on the first day of most of our trekkings. Our journey starts with a hilly path and landscape and goes on climbing a little bit on our mountains, passing through woody trails. The day ends with our arrival to our tented camp near river Bosso.
Day 2
On day two we will ride for about six hours on the southern slope of Monte Nerone to get to the little village of Pianello di Cagli, where we will have lunch. This will be the hardest stretch of our journey.
After lunch, we will follow routes north, passing through the meadows where cows and horses with their babies graze calmly. We'll ride downhill to the tiny village of Bacciardi, where we will spend the night.
Day 3
On the third day, we will be riding for 4/5 hours on a ring route following panoramic and steep paths on Monte Paludello. We will ride several times across the river that flows in the Fosso dell'Eremo.
Day 4
A not too long stretch will lead us to our tented camp on the banks of River Bosso, where we will have the possibility to have a restoring bath in the river.
Day 5
the first part of the trek will be the most difficult while the second part will be less difficult
While approaching to Ca' Maddalena.
The first and the third day will follow different routes.
